*My first art contest [13 years old] was a psychedelic color poster that stated “STOP! Smoking”. I won first place at the Bradley American Legion. I received a $25 savings bond.
*I took night classes in oils, ceramics, sculpting, and fabrics. My grandmother was a professional seamstress and taught me a lot about sewing and fabrics.
*I took various classes and workshops over 53 years at colleges, studios, different art teachers, before coming back to Illinois in 1993.
*I slowly incorporated myself into the local art scene here in Peoria, Illinois. My clientele is still located mainly abroad along with a growing Las Vegas fan base. I do not have a lot of my work on the internet due to copyright infringement. Usually, when [especially in Spain] people buy the original they buy the copyright. Some people don’t, when that happens then I sell the prints.
I have my own studio and gallery now. Due to remodeling, water damage, covid, and other various situations, the work on the studio and gallery has been stalled.
As of January 1st, 2022 I have opened another Studio and Gallery at the Contemporary Art Center, 305 SW Water St, Peoria, Il, 61602. My hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4pm ~8pm. Special Appointments are available. 309-265-3506.
Due to development in the downtown redevelopment area, we have been forced to move. As money has been tight I decided to close my space here. I will still be active in the art community and we will still see me around at the First Fridays in body and my art on display at times.
